Former Flyers Goaltender Lets in The Worst Goal of The Year
Former Philadelphia Flyers netminder Brian Elliot has had a rough go as of late, he is with the Tampa Bay Lightning organization and serves as backup to Andrei Vasilevskiy who is in Vezina talks each and every year.
The Lightning are very consistent with playing Vasilevskiy, Brian Elliot has only played in nine games this season out of the 32 games played by the Lightning, so when Elliot comes to the aid on a back-to-back night, or when Vasilevskiy needs a game off, he better be on his game.
Well, Elliot was quite the opposite of being on his game last night, the Lightning were heavy favourites to beat the Detroit Red Wings but Brian Elliot coughed up five goals on 24 shots before he was pulled from the crease, and one of them was awful..
So awful, it may be the worst goal of the year caused by a goaltender, take a look at the video below:
