As we are currently in mid-April, there are two things NHL fans always look forward to, the NHL playoffs about to begin and the NHL head coach firing season. After the dust settles, NHL teams decide to make changes to their management structure or their head coaching jobs usually due to poor performance.

One such head coach, former Flyers bench boss Peter Laviolette has decided to part ways with the Washington Capitals.
his contract ends on June 30th, which will conclude his third and final season with the team. Over his coaching career, Laviolette has coached five NHL organizations. Starting with the New York Islanders in 2001 he ended up landing in Philadelphia in 2009 -2010.
During his tenure with the Flyers, he took the team to the Stanley Cup finals and lost to Chicago, and also lost in two conference semifinals against Boston in New Jersey. His coaching record with the Flyers was 272 games coached, 145 wins, 98 losses and 29 overtime losses.
I also feel that this head coach will not be unemployed for long as he has still a good sense of the game and will help a team next season.
