With the NHL season still about six weeks away many people are giving their predictions of what's going to happen this season.

This includes former NHL'er and host of the the popular hockey podcast "Spittin' Chiclets" Ryan Whitney, made a bold prediction that's going to upset alot of the Toronto Maple Leafs fanbase.
Whitney is never one that's afraid to shoot from the hip when it comes to his opinions on the NHL made quite possibly the boldest prediction he's ever made.
Whitney believes that the Buffalo Sabres will win a Stanley Cup before the Toronto Maple Leafs do. On the Podcast, Whitney claimed that Patrick Kane would be going to Buffalo and bringing a Cup to the team.
Must read on FlyersInsider
Kane who's from Buffalo has admitted previously he would love to play for his hometown team before his career is over, it seems like there's never been a better time then now with Blackhawks General Manager Kyle Davidson working hard to trade both Patrick Kane and Johnathan Toews.
Buffalo has one of the top prospect pools in the NHL, along with its young core of Peyton Krebs, Dylan Cozens, Rasmus Dahlin, Owen Power, and Alex Tuch.
They do have the cap space to make it work, with $19 million available, so hypothetically it makes sense except the Sabres don't have a number one NHL caliber goaltender yet.
Ironically the Toronto Maple Leafs, along with New York Rangers, Colorado Avalanche, and Edmonton Oilers have all expressed interest in aquirng Kane, But the Sabres are the only team that won't have to ask Chicago to retain salary.
