As everyone who watches pro sports knows, fans' support and appreciation for their teams is the rock and foundation for any successful franchise and even some that struggle.
I have watched the NHL for over 30 years now and seeing those players skating onto the ice in their home rinks and hearing their names, along with watching the fanbase go ballistic anytime someone scores must give them warm and fantastic feelings towards themselves.
This also goes for people who cover the NHL. Sportsnet insider and 32 Thoughts podcaster Elliotte Friedman was a special guest on the nasty knuckles podcast.
He shared his views with the hosts regarding how he feels the Flyers fan base is towards their team and why they are special no matter how good or poor the team is playing.

He goes on to mention that an organization like the Flyers is a place that players would want to go and play because they give meaning to being part of the organization and be revered well after their careers are over especially if they win.
The Flyers are currently in a state of flux and beginning the journey of rebuilding this team. I feel this is a necessary step and if done properly will right the ship and give fans something to cheer about once again shortly.
The Flyers are on the road to play their next game in Ottawa against the senators. Game time will be 7:00 PM eastern on March 30th.
