Morgan Frost, the beleaguered centre of the Flyers has been trying to rewrite the narrative that has been painted by his head coach John Tortorella over the past 40 games of this season. He has been benched numerous times and made a healthy scratch as he has not lived up to the new contract he signed in the offseason.
During the game against the Dallas Stars last night, Frost gave the home crowd a sample of what he can do with a sick pass to defenseman Sean Walker.
That crazy pass was able to put the Flyers up one to nothing with a minute left in the first. The 24-year-old was drafted in the first round in the 2017 entry draft, 27th pick overall. Over his past five games he has been seen increased ice time which is now around 18 to 20 minutes a game. He's also factored on the score sheet having two goals and two assists for four points.
As management and Torts begin their discussions towards the trade deadline, one can't help wondering if Frost's name will be brought up on the trade front.
He will still have a year on his deal at a very affordable price and if the team can recuperate a draft pick or a prospect for him especially if he heats up on the offensive side it might be worth looking at.
