Johnny Gaudreau was just recently on the Spittin' Chiclets podcast hosted by Paul Bissonnette and Ryan Whitney just days after signing a 7-year $9.75 million dollar deal in Columbus.
He spoke about his desire to play for his hometown team and talked about coming to accept the fact that the Flyers could not move enough cap to sign him.
"It will always be cool to play for your hometown team and obviously they didn't have the cap space or anything so I kinda knew that they wouldn't be around on free agency day a few weeks before."

Bissonnette then decided to take jabs at Flyers GM Chuck Fletcher and his decision to spend the team's cap on Rasmus Ristolainen.
"They gave your bag to Risto", said Biz laughingly.
"Chuck Fletcher has become my favourite GM after the answer he gave about how it was gonna be too hard to move a couple contracts to get one of the best playmakers we've seen in the last 5-10 years?"
