With the recent developments in Eastern Europe regarding the invasion of Ukraine by Russia, the KHL playoffs are in jeopardy.
The playoffs were set to begin on March 1st, but one team has decided to boycott them : Helsingin Jokerit.
The Finland based team was scheduled to play Spartak Moscow in the first round but it will not happen for obvious reasons.

Also, rumours are indicating that the team will separate ties with the KHL.
Furthermore, Latvia's Education and Science Minister wants the Dinamo Riga to replicate Jokerit's decision. Riga is another KHL team based outside of Russia.
