Chuck Fletcher will arguably have his hands full this summer. He will not relax a lot...

His team needs to be better and have to compete next year. Thus, a lot of changes have to come to achieve this objective. But, where do we begin? One of the top priorities for the GM is to become a better puck possession team.
When you look at the numbers this season, the Flyers were 27th in the NHL for the shot attempt differential at 5 against 5 (46.62%), 26th in all-situation shot attempt differential (47.32 %), 26th in 5 against 5 expected goals share (46.48%) and 29th in all-situation expected goals share.
Puck possession is obviously vital for a team that wants to have success, and Fletcher knows it. Here's what he had to say about this issue.
"I'd like to think that a healthy Ryan Ellis would help in that regard. He is an elite puck mover. Cam York, I thought, showed some really good signs this year. Ivan Provorov and Travis Sanheim are obviously players that are good with the puck on their stick. I think we have some players that are currently on our roster that can help us get to a better point in that regard, but we are going to take some time in the next few weeks to look at those issues," said Fletcher.

How do you spend less time in your zone? By having blue liners that have the ability to retrieve the puck quickly and make a good first pass. Let's hope that Chuck Fletcher will make the proper moves to address this problem.
