With Rasmus Ristolainen as a pending unrestricted free agent, many teams will be looking to acquire another quality defenseman for the playoffs to come, and GM Chuck Fletcher will want to capitalize on it to fuel the team's rebuilding project.

As we know, the Flyers paid a heavy price to bring Ristolainen to the city of brotherly love. After a decent season on his part, Fletcher will be looking to recoup the 1st round pick that they traded in Ristolainen's original deal.

Who will trade their assets for the defenseman? Some serious playoffs contenders including Minnesota Wild who are currently without their captain and right-handed defenseman Jared Spurgeon, sidelined due to injuries and not certain to make the playoffs. Acquiring Ristolainen would certainly strengthen the Wild's bench.

The Winnipeg Jets may also be interested since they were planning to bring him aboard last year but eventually lost the trade to Philadelphia. If they can get him this time, we don't see any reasons why it shouldn't happen.
Finally, Chuck Fletcher might want to recoup his first-round pick by taking the Leafs'. Toronto still have most of their draft picks, including their first and second round picks and they will be looking to add as much talent on the team for the playoffs to come.
In any case, Ristolainen's departure will cost a first round pick at least.
