It's been no secret that the Chicago Blackhawks General Manager Kyle Davidson has been entertaining offers on 24 year old sniper Alex DeBrincat. The young gun scored 40 goals this season and was only one of the highlights on what was otherwise a disappointing season in the windy city.

So why would you trade a 40 goal scorer? Well, DeBrincat is a pending restricted free agent who made $6.4 million dollars this season and is looking at a big contract worth between $9-$10 millions dollars per year. However, Davidson isn't sold on DeBrincat, who's had issues with some teammates. Also, Davidson knows the return for DeBrincat in a trade would be huge for the Blackhawks rebuild. That asking price could be a lot after the Blackhawks reportedly declined a trade today.

According to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman on the under review podcast, one team approached Chicago in an effort to get DeBrincat, and the offer included at least 2 first rounders and one of them was fairly high and Chicago said no.
"I think there's one team that made a- I'm working on it today, a pretty big offer for DeBrincat, which if it's two included a couple-at least a couple of first rounders, one of them which would of been pretty high, and I heard Chicago wasn't willing to do that so, I'm very curious to see what it's going to take to get DeBrincat out of there." - Elliotte Friedman
