Philadelphia Flyers' Scott Laughton is playing extremely well for his country in the IIHF World Championship.

Team Canada (4-1-1-1) currently sits second in the Group B standings, holding 15 points just three behind Switzerland (6-0-0-1). Thanks to their record, Canada will play for the Gold Medal on Sunday, May 28 against Germany (4-0-3-0).
Scott Laughton and company are a big reason that Team Canada is playing for gold, Laughton has 7 points in 9 games, honing 5 assists.
Laughton is an alternate captain for Canada this year and rightfully so, as he shows true leadership on and off the ice.
The alternate captain went out of his way to make a kids day, giving his stick to a young fan well leaving the ice.
This is an excellent example of the leadership and kind heart that Scott Laughton has, in turn he would be a great candidate to be the next Flyers captain.
