Philadelphia Flyers GM Chuck Fletcher was in press conference this morning to provide some updates on player status. Just before the start of his media availability, the club announced that Sean Couturier will miss the remainder of the season after undergoing successful back surgery.

But as you know, Couturier wasn't the only player sidelined. Kevin Hayes has been missing action since January 17. In the last 8 months, the 29-year-old forward had to undergo two abdominal surgeries. He reinjured himself in November, came back in the lineup, and is now out since the middle of January.
According to Chuck Fletcher, we can't say if the center will come back this season, as another surgery is still a possibility.
Regarding Ryan Ellis, the focus is clearly on next year, per Fletcher. The defensemen is frustrated with the current situation, but it's maybe preferable for the team and the player to concentrate on next season.
