Injuries plagued the Philadelphia Flyers last season, and defenseman Ryan Ellis lost his playing career to injury--for good.

Joel Farabee was another player who suffered a lingering injury and couldn't play up to his potential despite playing an 82-game season.
Although he signed a $5 Million AAV contract, he failed to live up to it, scoring 39 points in 2022-2023.
"It's really tough to get ready for a season in a short period of time, so I think having the summer and just sticking around here, I think I have a lot to prove next season. Obviously, this season probably wasn't my best, and I have a lot of areas to improve on," Farabee told the media during his exit interview.

"I feel like when I play a little heavier, at the COVID year where I had a really good year, you just feel really good about your game. You've got good legs at all times, so if I can get back to that, I feel like I can really help this team a lot more."

Farabee will be able to return to form if he is able to adapt better to Tortorella's system, along with a full off-season to recover and train.
Although Farabee is only 23 years old, he is humble enough to admit that his greatest season wasn't yet, but he is still young enough to reach his full potential.
The Flyers will look to him to return to form while pushing forward with their rebuild.
