John Tortorella Addresses The Media Regarding Recent Rebuild Rumours
The Philadelphia Flyers are currently eleven points out of an Eastern Conference playoff spot and are at a very confusing stage. With Chuck Fletcher bringing in Nic Deslauriers and defensemen Tony DeAngelo, it appeared as the Flyers hoped to add a little bit of grit to prepare for a potential upcoming playoff run, those plans were quickly thrown down the drain after one month into the regular season, when the Flyers went on an all-time franchise worst losing streak.
We are only halfway through the season and there is plenty of time to turn this team around, but will Chuck Fletcher act on the teams dwelling injuries, and possibly make a move for some replacements? It seems as that isn't the case, as the Flyers name has yet to be thrown around in anything since Johnny Gaudreau was being dealt last year, and we all know how that went.
Tortorella was questioned on the Flyers fan base, and Network Analysts questioning if they'll be taking place in a rebuild, and he didn't give a straight answer, but he served up a good one:
John Tortorella said he's aware of the «aura» around the club, that people are saying they need to tank. He admits they've made their own bed, said he's not criticizing people for saying that. He also said he and his team should use that as motivation, a chip on their shoulders.
