The Philadelphia Flyers left Carter Hart out to dry once again last night, providing no offense and little-to-no defense as well.

The Flyers would end up losing by a score of 1-2 in overtime to the Vegas Golden Knights, Hart stood on his head and made many spectacular saves throughout the game, but the Flyers could not get much going offensively.
One thing that stood out throughout the 3 on 3 overtime, was a questionable move by John Tortorella.

Torts did something that has rarely been seen since the NHL introduced the 3 on 3 overtime periods..
Instead of putting out two forwards and one defensemen, as the Flyers and every other NHL team has done in the past, Tortorella decided to put out two defensemen and a forward instead.
This is one great strategy and very different, especially in 3 on 3 overtime.
But for the Flyers, having Rasmus Ristolainen filling in on one of the forward gaps during 3 on 3 overtime, is quite the liability.
Tortorella followed up with pairing Sanheim and Provorov together with one forward, and that line got some quality chances.
Sadly Kevin Hayes had a bad turnover to cost the Flyers the game in the remaining minutes of overtime.
