John Tortorella has faced many challenges over the years in his career. Whether it's taking on the whole Calgary Flames organization after a game or teaching the Flyers the game how it's played, he always rises to the occasion.

Going into tonight's game, his team faced two of the best players in the NHL When the Edmonton Oilers arrived. The good news is that the Flyers won 2-1 in a shootout.
Torts explained in the postgame presser that he was pleased with the discipline his team faced and that the Flyers did not sustain any penalties during the game. They recognize that the Oilers had a decent power play and could be lethal.

Throughout this season, Tortorella has been preaching checking and defence. The rash of injuries that happened earlier in the air gave the Flyers a chance to understand his teachings and try to put them into practice.
With the season 2/3rds finished, it remains how General manager Chuck Fletcher will treat his lineup, whether it's a sell-off or sell-off and buy scenario.
The Flyers will sell any attempt to recoup more assets at the deadline and continue this aggressive retool they've been speaking.
