Keith Jones calls out fake trade reports
There has been an increasing trend concerning fake reports and fake trades that have inundated the Internet in the last few years. Many fans have seen tweets and other information sent out from credible sources that turned out not true.
Over the weekend, this was the case for the Philadelphia Flyers as they were trying to make two blockbuster trades to reshape their roster for next year.
Kevin Hayes and
Travis Sanheim were traded to the St Louis Blues for
Brayden Schenn and
Torey Krug. It seemed credible that it was going to happen. The fan base was waiting to see, however, after some time, it appears that Krug decided to change his mind and reneged on the deal.
The other deal that is in waiting that may not occur is defenceman Tony DeAngelo reunited with his old team in Carolina. That report seemed less likely and it has not occured yet.

Saying this, Flyers President Keith Jones was on Sportsradio 94WIP yesterday explaining how many of the reports were highly inaccurate and that his team is being called upon by many teams across the league about their players and seeing for their availability.
With many inquiries for their players, this is good news for the Flyers organization. General manager Danny Briere and his management team are currently trying to jump-start their rebuilding phase and be willing to move with numerous pieces out to give the Flyers a new look.
It's long overdue and remains how he handles it going forward. In the meantime, fans will watch and wait well as the rumours fly around the web.
