Despite the Philadelphia Flyers having an off-season, many team members demonstrated the importance of playing a 200-foot game and the significant responsibility of leadership.

Scott Laughton, who has been with the Flyers since the 2014-2015 season as a consistent bottom-6 player, achieved a personal best in points this season and earned a nomination for the King Clancy Memorial Trophy.

Scott Laughton on being nominated for the King Clancy Memorial Trophy:

«A lot of credit goes to my wife, Chloe, who's such a big part of this. The nomination is something that means a lot to me and I'm very grateful because Philadelphia has given me so much,"

"I want to always give back. Giving back, being a part of this community and to be a voice for various groups and organizations, I take great pride in it, and I believe is part of our responsibility."

This award recognizes leadership qualities both on and off the ice, and Laughton is no stranger to either. He has been nominated for this award for the third consecutive year and has championed humanitarian causes in Philadelphia as the Flyers Pride Ambassador, along with James Van Riemsdyk.
His teammates and front office speak highly of the player and the nomination seems well deserved according to Danny Briere:
Danny Briere on Scott Laughton:

"It's well deserved to see Scott be named our Flyers nominee for the King Clancy Memorial Trophy. I was really happy with how Scott played this season and how he emerged as a leader in the locker room."

Here's hoping 3 times is a charm for Laughton as he deserves the award this year after being snubbed the last 2 years!
