A medical emergency occurred last night at a Toronto Marlies game, but not on the ice; rather, it occurred with a fan in the stands.
A spectator needed the assistance of paramedics and a medical emergency team during the first period intermission break of the game, which came after 20 minutes of play.
The AHL ultimately decided to postpone/cancel this game, and since then, the AHL has released the following statement:
Health is always more important than hockey, so I'm glad they made the correct decision! Fans will either receive a refund for their tickets or a voucher for the new game date.
