Today, the Philadelphia Flyers organization announced via Instagram that legendary announcer Lou Nolan would be honored pregame vs the Anaheim Ducks on April 9th.

The organization is planning a very special pregame celebration.
Nolan, 76, has been the press announcer for the Flyers for 50 years! Starting way back in 1972-1973 NHL season. This means he would have begun his career as announcer at the age of 26 years old.

In his first season as announcer, legendary Flyer Bobby Clark took home the league MVP as the Canadiens hoisted the Stanley Cup. Unforgettably, the Habs beat the Flyers in the conference finals. Wells Fargo Center was also then known as the Spectrum.
Clark had 104 points in 78 games as the team went (37-30-11) over 78 contests.
Remember to tune in on Saturday, April 9 for the special show.
