Flyers legend John LeClair recently went on the Raw Knuckles podcast and spoke about the trade that sent him to Philadelphia. One of the most lopsided deals in Flyers history.
"We were having trouble scoring. I was putting up you know, 19 goals. It's good, but I was playing first line with Kirk and Brian I mean that's not really first line stats. They wanted more and they thought I had more which obviously I did, I guess."
LeClair was traded with Éric Desjardins and Gilbert Dionne to the Philadelphia Flyers in exchange for Mark Recchi and Philadelphia's 3rd round choice in the 1995 NHL Entry Draft.
"Clarky called me and I said you know, I was playing left wing and center at the time a little of both. And I said where do you see me playing? Left wing or center? He's like : I see you playing left wing with Eric. I'm like all right be there as soon as I can."

LeClair also spoke about the 2.5-3 years he was with Lindros and Remberg being amazing. When Ramberg was initially dealt, the trade did not sit well with him and Lindros.
"It was fun getting on the ice with those two guys. It's just it gives you a level of confidence that you didn't know it was there, it really is. I mean you when you got those two guys by your side you feel real confident on the ice."
while as a member of the Legion of doom, LeClair had two 50 goal seasons and 97 points in both the 1995-96 to 1996-97 seasons.
