Standing at 6-foot-4 and weighing 205 pounds, Grans played in the American Hockey League (AHL) for the Ontario Reign during the 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons. In his rookie year, he showed promise, averaging over 15 minutes of ice time and posting 24 points in 56 games.

However, his second season was a disappointment, with reduced production and deployment changes under a new head coach.
