With Claude Giroux gone from the Flyers, the team not only misses his skill, poise and charisma but also his leadership abilities.

Mike Yeo spoke to reporter Mike Meltzer yesterday about the importance of checking up on the players. Especially those who may be scratched, out of the lineup or injured.

"When you are out of the lineup, there's more to it than just the pain. It takes you out of your routine & being around the guys. Sometimes to the point of depression. You have to check in on those guys."
The trade deadline saw many of the veteran leaders in the locker room depart. Giroux, Braun and Brassard all found new teams. Newer younger players need to step up in their place and support the youngsters who will be getting their shot soon.
"Sometimes as a coach, you tend to focus on who is playing that night. That's where it helps to have veteran leaders [who can keep everyone feeling in the loop]. With G gone, Brass, and Brauner, other guys are stepping up into those roles."

The Flyers will face off against powerhouse team, the Colorado Avalanche tonight at 9 p.m. E.T.
