NHL Fans Furious After Team Cancels Their Pride Night Moments Before Puck Drop
Ivan Provorov, a defenseman for the Philadelphia Flyers, decided against taking part in his team's pride night ritual of sporting warm-up jerseys which were rainbow, which led many other teams to follow suit.
Since then, several players and organizations have expressed their displeasure with the scenario and said that they support the pride movement. In addition, numerous teams have chosen not to wear the pride jerseys together, despite having a planned night promoted to fans.
According to Minnesota Wild writer Michael Russo of The Athletic, the team decided last-minute not to wear their pride-themed jerseys tonight, despite the organization having advertised that the event was still going on just days before.
