I have watched professional sports for over 30 years, and one thing that I enjoy is seeing the love and loyalty of a fanbase, Watching people supporting a team no matter how good or poor they are playing, and still having a passion for their squad.

In the NHL, the league has many loyal and rabid fanbases, and one of the strongest is the fan base of the Flyers. This love for this team did not go unnoticed, as the former Flyers and fan favorite Rod Brind amour discussed with Ryan Whitney on the Spittin Chiclets podcast.
He chatted with Whitney about being a 21-year-old less than three months with the Flyers organization when they hosted the All-Star game which was hosted in Philadelphia that season.

Brind' Amour said that no matter what happened, he wore a Flyers jersey and that the fan base recognized him and cheered for him with the loudest of ovations! More than Gretzky and Lemieux.
The current Carolina Hurricanes coach had an astonishing 20-season career with the NHL and played for three NHL teams. He spent nine seasons with the Flyers and was a force on offense through point-getting and penalty minutes.
He played 1484 games and scored 452 goals with 732 assists for 1184 points. He also amassed an eye-popping 1100 penalty minutes during his time with the NHL.
