The 61-year-old assistant coach was born on February 22nd, 1962 in Toronto ON. He was drafted 21st overall in the 1980 NHL Entry Draft by the Philadelphia Flyers. He had a playing career that spanned from 1981 through 1992.
He had spent the bulk of his career between the Hershey Bears in the Philadelphia Flyers and even spent one season with the Toronto Maple Leafs in 1987-1988. He finished his career with the Bears and amassed 671 games, he scored 38 goals and 106 assists for 144 points and had an eye-popping 1840 penalty minutes.
Having played defence and carrying a frame of 6'4" 212 pounds he certainly was a rugged and tough player to play against and caused all kinds of mayhem against his opponents.
We wish all the best for Mr. Stothers and hope for a speedy recovery and great health.
