Nazem Kadri responded to the racist comments he received online after being involved in a crash that injured Blues goalie Jordan Binnington. If everybody remembers, during game three of the Western Conference Semifinal between the Blues and Avalanche, Kadri and Blues defenseman Calle Rosen both lost an edge crashing into the Blues' net.
Binnington left the game and has been ruled out for the remainder of this series.
Post game 3, Kadri received death threats and racist comments via twitter courtesy of some Blues fans. The team had to call police for extra security at their hotel in case events escalated. Thankfully nobody was hurt physically.
In game 4, Kadri replied to those haters with a message on and off the ice. He scored a hat trick, paving the way for his team to take a commanding 3-1 series lead. The Avalanche won 6-3.

Post game, here's what Kadri told NHL on TNT about how he deals with the racism he has encountered.
"Unfortunately I've been dealing with that for a long time. It's sad to say but thats just the fact of the matter, I'm getting good at just putting it in the rearview mirror. It's a big deal, I try to act like it's not, and just keep moving forward."
On the ice, Kadri was subject to targeting from the Blues players themselves with
David Perron and
Pavel Buchnevich bot attempting liberties on Kadri. The history between the sides goes back to last playoffs where Kadri was suspended for a headshot on Blues defenceman
Justin Faulk.
"I know some of those messages I got don't reflect every single fan in St-Louis but for those that hate, that one's for them."
Kadri's wife shared some of the comments he got on Twitter. Viewer discretion is advised.
Kadri, 31, will be a UFA come season's end. Should the Flyers seek him as short term insolation during the rebuild.
No matter his reputation, there is no room for racism, sexism or homophobia in hockey. Let's hope these people get banned and face some consequences.
