It's hard to believe it's already been nearly four years since one of the biggest trades in Montreal Canadiens history went down. On September 10th 2018, the Montreal Canadiens traded their captain Max Pacioretty to the Vegas Golden Knights for forward Tomas Tatar, forward prospect for the Guelph Storm Nick Suzuki and a second-round pick in the 2019 NHL Draft pick.

Tomas Tatar was pleasant surprise as a throw in price in the trade Tatar filled in well for Pacoritty for the time being but the diamond in that trade was the Canadiens had big plans the 19 year-old.
Suzuki is now 23 and has played three years already in Montreal. Last season Suzuki had 21 goals, and 42 assists his best year thous far. There's been plenty of talk of Suzuki being named the next captain of the Montreal Canadiens replacing Shea Weber who is unable to play in the NHL anymore and has been placed on long-term injured reserve for the reminder of his contract.
Sportsnet's Eric Engels believes the Canadiens Captain will be either Nick Suzuki, Brendan Gallagher, or Joel Edmundson.

Speaking of Suzuki he was the most recent guest on the Knuckles Podcast with a former Montreal Canadiens tough guy Chris Nilan. On the show they asked Suzuki about potentially being named captain in Montreal here's what he had to say:
Suzuki was speaking with former NHLer Chris "Knuckles" Nilan when Nilan hit him with a pretty tough question about whether or not he felt he was ready to take on such a big responsibility in such a passionate hockey market.

"Yeah," said Suzuki onthe Raw Knuckles podcast. "I think we have a ton of guys that could wear the Cand be great captains and I have a ton of respect for all my teammates and the guys that have been here like Gally, who would be an amazing captain if he was given the C. But if it was me, I think I would definitely be ready for it. I think I've learned a ton over my 3 years here already. I've had guys to learn off of like Gally, and Webby, Pricey and all the guys I mentioned before. I've seen a great captain like Webby and how he's handled himself and I think I could do a great job in that role."

Habs fans may not of liked many of former General Manager Marc Bergevin's decisions, but one of the best moves he's ever done was acquiring Nick Suzuki. Especially how Max Pacoritty's career is going he was traded for future considerations this off-season to Carolina and is having surgery to repair Achilles tendon.
