When did it exactly go wrong for the Flyers?

We may have an answer. One of the most important thing for a franchise is to perpetuate a winning culture during time. How do you do it? The best method is to draft well. But we all know that it's nearly impossible to have good drafts year after year.

One of the "recent" draft's could have change a lot of things for the Flyers. We know that the major flaw in the lineup is the lack of goalscoring. This team just doesn't have this elite goalscorer. But they could have gotten one.

During the 2016 NHL Draft, the Flyers selected German Rubtsov with the 22nd overall pick. Fourteen picks later, Ron Hextall selected Pascal Laberge, who never played a game in the NHL.


Who was chosen three picks after Laberge? Alex DeBrincat. The Blackhawks forward already has 160 goals in the course of his career, including two 40+ goals campaigns.

Imagine if DeBrincat was a Flyer. He could have solved several big problems in attack...
