The Flyers and Panthers have reportedly agreed on initial terms involving a trade. Claude Giroux has long been speculated to prefer Florida as his destination of choice and according to insider Pierre LeBrun, the two teams are still grinding away for a solution.

«The Flyers continue to grind away on a Claude Giroux trade. Sense is there was a bit of progress yesterday. But still not where they need it to be.»
Aaron Ekblad was injured last night in a game versus the Anaheim Ducks and reports are saying he may be out for an indefinite period of time.

Brandon Sommermann from The Brotherly Bully and Philly Fan Life also chimed in on the situation, questioning whether or not this opens the door for a Justin Braun move.
«Hearing Flyers & #TimeToHunt have agreed on some things in a potential trade for Claude Giroux. But still not close to a deal being agreed to. With Ekblad's injury last night, have to wonder if Justin Braun is now being discussed as well to help facilitate trade.»
Like Ekblad, Braun is also a right-handed defenceman with playoff experience who if needed, can eat up big minutes. We stay reminded that should the Panthers want Braun, the price only goes up. Florida has no first round pick for this year or next, losing them in the Reinhart and Chiarot deals.
