The Carolina Hurricanes made a nice move on Tuesday signing veteran free agent Paul Stastny to a one-year $1,500,000 million deal.
Stastny will bring more leadership and scoring to the Hurricanes as they try to build on last season's playoffs where they made it to the second round despite missing their two main goaltenders before being eliminated by the New York Rangers.
All though we don't know if the Carolina Hurricanes first choice to sign with, we do know one place he didn't want to go even when they offered more money.
Sportsnet Hockey Insider Elliotte Friedman reported on the latest 32 Thoughts podcast, Friedman explained how he believes Stastny was offered more money to return for a second tour in Vegas but instead chose Carolina.

Understandably as the Golden Knights look to be in big trouble with salary cap space, and won't have goaltender
Robin Lehner at all this season.
This looks like this could be the Golden Knights worse season since joining the NHL, and missed the playoffs last season, Stastny likely made the right decision.
