The Flyers have a young, exciting, ever improving core on their team. The next step in the process (insert 76ers "The Process" joke Here) is to ensure they stay here, long term. Owen Tippett has been one of the Flyers most improved and impactful players this year. His confidence has grown throughout the year, and he is always looking to score, something the flyers have been sorely missing. He has 18 goals this season and 11 assists. He has six points in his last five games and four goals in those games.

This has led to rumors that the Flyers and Tippett are working towards a contract extension. Tippett is currently in his second year of a two-year 3-million-dollar contract signed prior to last season. He was an integral part of the trade that sent Flyers Legend Claude Giroux to Florida. If he keeps this play up, he is certainly in for a raise this summer, he is currently slated to be a Restricted Free Agent this summer.
The Flyers could start locking up their young core with an extension to Tippett, who clearly has a bright future in this league.
