Tuesday night may seem like just a matchup between the Columbus Blue Jackets and the Philadelphia Flyers, but this matchup is especially significant for Columbus star Johnny Gaudreau who is a native to Philadelphia and grew up in the area.

Gaudreau comes into the matchup having another stellar season of his young career as he leads his team in points with 25 (including seven goals and 18 assists.) Gaudreau looks to help Columbus get back on track as they have dropped their previous game to the Boston Bruins.
It will be interesting to see the reception that Gaudreau receives from the Philadelphia faithful as Gaudreau not only grew up in Salem, NJ just 30 minutes from the Flyers facilities and has also been linked to the Flyers in the past.
During the 2022 offseason when Gaudreau was a free agent leaving Calgary, Gaudreau was extremely vocal about his love for the city of Philadelphia and that he would have considered the opportunity to be a Flyer if offered a contract. Many have even tied Gaudreau to the Flyers this season with speculations and trade rumors, although it would take a hefty package to land him.

Gaudreau said this back in the summer of 2022:
"I have a ton of family here, all my friends. All my good friends and kids who I have played with all my life are from South Jersey, so it would be sweet to play here someday. You never know in sports. It's a lot of support back here in South Jersey and the Philly area, they follow me pretty well."

Will Philly give him a nice welcome to try and lure him to the orange and black or will they give him the typical Philly 'tough love' and shower him with boos?
