The Flyers and Penguins may be far apart in the ranking of standings, but they sure are pretty close in one thing and that is having an incompetent general manager. Oddly enough the Penguins general manger is the Flyers former GM and goaltender Ron Hextall, who also did not do much whatsoever as the Flyers general manager.

The Penguins are very old, Crosby, Malkin and Letang are all aging and they have the oldest roster in the NHL. Many expected the Penguins to be contenders once again this season, but they are not in a playoff spot and need a lot of fixing offensively. Ron Hextall has stated he is not willing to move the Penguins first round draft picks and does not want to trade a rostered player.. which leaves the Penguins with zero options in terms of trade bait, to improve their roster.
The Penguins received a lovely 7-2 spanking by the Oilers last night, and Penguins head coach Mike Sullivan sure let it be know that nothings being done, management wise.
Mike Sullivan after tonight's ass-kicking: «Our roster is our roster. So we have what we have.»

Fire Ron Hextall, said Andrew Fillipponi of 93.7 the fan radio.

Oddly enough, just 12 hours later Ron Hextall made his first move.
As a Flyers fan rightfully stated below, us Flyers fans have sure seen this one before:
