As we all know James Van Riemsdyk's name has been thrown around in trade rumours for awhile now, but according to David Pagnotta of the Fourth Period the Calgary Flames have been linked to The Flyers forward JVR.

JVR 33, currently has a stat line of 8-13-21 in 30 games played for the flyers this year while averaging 15:55 of ice time per contest. JVR has proven he can be impactful offensively before, putting up a career high in assists (33) and points (62) in 2016-17 with the Maple Leafs.
He's hit the 30 goal mark once in his career but came just shy of it multiple times. JVR if healthy could be an important piece for Calgary if they want to make a deep run this year, as their offence has had struggles of their own with being only a +4 in goal differential (155 GF 151 GA).
The Calgary Flames only have $1,424,048 in cap space, and JVR carry's a cap hit of $7,000,000. Calgary would have to free some cap to acquire him, and or the Flyers would have to retain some cap.
In 2018-19 JVR signed a 5 year $7,000,000 deal with the Flyers, and is set to become a UFA at the end of the year.
