The organization is still being extremely mum on Travis Konecny's injury, but during his post-practice media availability this afternoon, head coach John Tortorella was asked about the forward to which he responded "he's out". When pressed further about if it was for an extended period, he responded "yes".

While it can be surmised, due to how TK skated off after the injury occurred, that the injury is to his arm/shoulder, there has still been no definitive update from the organization on what the exact injury actually is. All we currently know, officially, based off what the organization has said, is that it's an "upper-body injury".
With Konecny's exit due to injury, it makes room for a prospect to show what he can potentially do at the NHL level.

He made his NHL debut against the New Jersey Devils, and while the game itself went terribly, Desnoyers - who John Tortorella has nick named "Desi" after admitting he still isn't sure how to pronounce the forward prospect's name - played a decent game himself.
Desnoyers was initially re-assigned to the Phantoms after the Devils game because they had a game last night and the Flyers wanted him to continue playing. He was officially re-called again this morning before the Flyers practice, but with the Phantoms having been out of state he was not in attendance for the team's practice.
It's also fair to surmise that with the Konecny injury, and strictly based off what Torts said in his post-practice interview that he's here to stay for the foreseeable future.
On the opposite end of the spectrum from Desnoyers, prospect goaltender Samuel Ersson, who was also re-assigned to the Phantoms after the Flyers last game, will not be returning to the Flyers this season unless there's a Flyers goalie health reason for him to do so. According to Tortorella they feel like with the Phantoms knocking on the door of a playoff spot in the AHL the team has decided they want the young goalie to get as much legit playing time as possible, so he will remain with the Phantoms as they attempt to get into the playoffs.
