Report: Forward Reveals Flyers Haven't Offered Him a Contract

The lingering question will always be whether the Flyers received enough for Giroux. Tippett appears to be providing an answer by having a strong start to his new season. In the past 18 games, he has scored seven goals and accumulated 13 points while becoming a fixture on the power play and a key member of the top six.

However, there is one notable omission regarding Tippett's current status with the Flyers: he does not have a contract extension, nor have the Flyers offered talks on renewing his contract.

Tippett is in the final year of his two-year deal worth $3 million. His current cap hit is $1.5 million per season, and he is hopeful for a long-term contract extension.

He will become a restricted-free agent next year. What's interesting about his situation is the noticeable drop in his ice time, compared to last year when he played 77 games, scored 27 goals, and averaged 17 minutes and 25 seconds in ice time.

This season, he is currently averaging 15 minutes and 13 seconds and seems to be on pace to produce 60 points.

Much could happen over the next few months as the Flyers continue to evaluate their talent level and determine who will fit into their new mould during the franchise rebuild. It is widely expected that Tippett will remain with the Flyers for foreesable future.
