That's huge, but also sad for Russian hockey players.
According to TSN's Gord Miller, the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) got wide support for removing Russia from all tournaments for the rest of 2022, including the World Championships and World Juniors in August and December and strip them from the WJC in 2023.
Ice Hockey federations from Switzerland and Latvia, among others, already stated that they fully supported the isolation of Russia from international tournaments, as the IIHF council is set to discuss it during a meeting tomorrow.
It's not looking good for Russia, but it's a necessary measure to take.
