In case you forgot, Ryan Reaves' time in New York ended this season with weeks of him sitting in the press box as a healthy scratch. Reaves, who was more than frustrated by his lack of ice time, requested a trade, and in November, he was dealt to the Minnesota Wild in exchange for a fifth-round draft pick.
Reaves did not leave New York with a smile on his face; it was a difficult route to take. Tonight marks the first time Reaves has faced them since then. Reaves was questioned beforehand about if any of his former colleagues would be considering fighting in the case that sparks are set to fly in his return, and Reaves had the perfect response.
"I'd be happy to go 2 on 1, to be honest. That's what it's gonna take," said Reaves.
Reaves sure didn't hold back, stating he'd be happy to go 2 on 1, but who would fight from the Rangers? They now have zero grittiness, unless you speak on their captain Jacob Trouba, who throws more controversial hits than he has points.
«He's a good fighter,» Shesterkin said, «I don't ever want to be in front of those hot hands.»
