It seems that the Carolina Hurricanes and their coach Rod Brind'Amour are encountering some difficulties in agreeing on his next contract.

During his tenure in Carolina, Brind'Amour has been successful at guiding the team to regular post-season play, taking over from Bill Peters in 2019.

His winning percentage from 2019 to 2021 was .645%, a significant improvement over Peters' time as coach. However, despite the team's competitive edge, they have yet to make it to a Stanley Cup final.

Brind'Amour is currently in the final year of a three-year contract that pays $1.8 million annually.
Despite his success in instilling a winning culture within the Hurricanes organization, he is not optimistic about how the negotiations for his new contract will go. He feels that the process will not be easy.
