The Chicago Blackhawks Are Drawing Controversy
The NHL's "Hockey Is For Everyone" campaign and its "Pride Nights" have generated a lot of discussion and some little controversy during the last month.
Ivan Provorov, a defenseman with the Philadelphia Flyers, was the spark for the entire situation when he refused to wear the Pride Night jerseys as the team warmed up. The New York Rangers and New York Islanders then both elected to remove from the Pride night Jerseys as a team.
It now�appears that the Chicago Blackhawks have changed their mind about hosting Pride Night. The Chicago Blackhawks participated in Hockey is for Everyone by wearing Black History Month warmup jerseys rather than any rainbow jerseys.
