The Florida Panthers will scratch an important piece tonight to get Claude Giroux

According to TSN Insider Darren Dreger, the Charlotte Checkers, the AHL affiliate team of the Florida Panthers will sit out forward Owen Tippet tonight. Obviously, there's has been a lot of rumours out there linking the Flyers and Tippet.

Florida is, despite their acquisition of Ben Chiarot yesterday, still very much in the hunt for Claude Giroux. Elliotte Friedman wrote yesterday in "32 Thoughts", that Giroux's preferred destination is the Panthers.

A trade between the Panthers and the Flyers seems increasingly likely...
