It's not a secret that Pierre Luc Dubois, the Columbus Blue Jackets centre has not fulfilled his expectations after coming from the Jets through the Patrik Laine trade. There have been rumblings for many weeks now that he doesn't want to re-sign with The Jets and the like to find a new home along with asking for a trade twice in his career.
PLD is a restricted free agent who holds arbitration rights this summer. The range he is seeking is between 8 and $9.5 million AAV.
As many fans know, the Flyers are lacking up the middle, especially after the second line down. With the uncertainty of Coutts and his health and the fact the Flyers are looking to move beleaguered centerman Kevin Hayes as his cap hit and performance defensively is not what the Flyers are hoping for, the Flyers are likely going to be looking for a new centreman to fill those spots.

If PLD is looking for north of $9 million for a contract, that would put him in the top-line role. He has not shown that he can fulfill at the moment current I feel that he may not be the best choice for the Flyers they can look elsewhere to find that centre they're looking for.
Their management is currently getting things ready for the 2023 NHL draft and they will be choosing 7th overall. I expect them to attempt to move up in the draft list.
