Former Minnesota North Stars defenseman Brad Maxwell's passing was reported by the Minnesota Star Tribune on Sunday after his battle with lung cancer.

Maxwell, the 7th overall pick in the 1977 NHL Entry Draft, played over 600 NHL games with several teams, including the North Stars. Despite not winning a Stanley Cup, he achieved milestones such as winning the Memorial Cup in 1977 and earning an NHL All-Star title in 1983-84.
Maxwell's legacy lives on with 98 goals, 270 assists, and 368 career points. The hockey community mourns his loss, and our thoughts are with his family and loved ones.
