The start of training camp is just a few weeks away, and these are certainly interesting times for the Philadelphia Flyers. After the announcement was made at the end of last year that the team was entering a full rebuild mode, there were expectations that the team would start dismantling the old model and gradually rebuilding it over time.

The good news is that the Flyers do have some talent in their prospect pool that could be on the horizon and the roster within the next year or two.
Several players in the rookie camp, scheduled to begin on September 13th, will have some on-ice action, while other scrimmages on September 15th and 16th will give the rookies a chance to showcase their abilities to head coach John Tortorella and his coaching staff.
One player to watch is Bobby Brink. During last year's camp, he couldn't attend due to a torn labrum, but he will be available this year. The Hobey Baker finalist in 2022 was selected in the second round, 34th overall, in the 2019 draft. After playing for the University of Denver, he joined the Lehigh Valley Phantoms in 2022-2023, where he played 41 games, scoring twelve goals with 16 assists for a total of 28 points and accumulating 15 penalty minutes. It's expected that he will compete for a spot in the Flyers' lineup.

On defence, Emil Andrae shows promise as an NHL defenseman. He possesses elite offensive skills along with a physical presence, which is always a signature trait for a Philadelphia Flyers team. Since Tortorella emphasizes defence-first hockey, Andrae certainly fits the bill for what he needs. After spending some time in the Swedish Hockey League, where he recorded 26 points in 51 games, he joined The Phantoms. It's widely expected that he will be in the lineup for at least the first eight games of the season to give him a chance to test the NHL waters. This player is undoubtedly a promising prospect.
Lastly, Elliot Desnoyers has been a familiar name in the Flyers' system for some time now. The 21-year-old has received high praise from Tortorella and has caught the coaching staff's attention. After playing four games in the NHL last year, he spent the bulk of his time with The Phantoms, playing 65 games, scoring 23 goals with 21 assists for a total of 44 points. He also had 16 penalty minutes and was a +4. I expect him to be a regular this season.
So, there you have it a few players to keep an eye on as reinforcements from past and future drafts start to filter into the lineup during the ongoing rebuilding phase.
