Now that the Stanley Cup Final has wrapped up, it's that time of year where team's are looking to make moves to improve for next season. It look like we could see a huge trade ahead of the NHL Entry Draft held in Montreal on July 7th : the New York Islanders are very interested in acquiring the services of Montreal Canadiens power forward Josh Anderson.

Both the Canadiens and Islanders had terrible seasons. The Islanders made it to the Eastern Conference Finals last season but couldn't get in this year. The Montreal Canadiens season was even worse. After making it to the Stanley Cup Final, the Habs finished 32nd, having their worst season in franchise history, causing the Canadiens to go in rebuild.
The Islanders however feel they just had more of a bad season and just need to retool a few pieces. Islanders Hockey Insider Patrick Lortie revealed the Islanders are willing to trade their first round 13th overall pick in this upcoming draft held in Montreal at the Bell Centre.

Josh Anderson is going into his third year of his current contract he signed with Montreal after being traded from the Blue Jackets to the Canadiens for Max Domi that pays him $5,500,000 annually. The Canadiens General Manager Kent Hughes would obviously want something else such as another player, a pick or prospect but with Anderson being 28, he's in his prime now and with the Canadiens rebuilding, this definitely looks like a trade that benefits both teams.
Targeting a player like Anderson is logical for the Islanders. But giving the 13th overall pick? It seems a little bit too much...
