The regular season of the NHL ends on April 13th, 2023, little under four months from now. The NHL's current leaderboard has a number of surprises so far this season, including the Winnipeg Jets in fifth place, the Dallas Stars in sixth, and the most unexpected of them all, the New Jersey Devils in second.

What about the teams, though, that are woefully unproductive and in the "dog house"?
The Ottawa Senators in 28th place, the Philadelphia Flyers in 26th place, the Columbus Blue Jackets in 30th place, and many more clubs are surprisingly underperforming.
