The situation around this Flyers' prospect begins to be very worrying

Wade Allison is without an ounce of a doubt one of the Flyers' best prospects. He showed it again this year in the AHL that he's an NHLer, or at least very close to become one.

He had 7 points in 14 games last year with the Flyers. This season, he only played 17 games between the AHL and NHL, including 16 of them being in Lehigh Valley, where he registered 14 points. That's not too shabby.

However, the 24-year-old has been crushed by injuries. He didn't played until January 22nd against the Sabres, before leaving the game because of a lower body injury. He was cleared to play a little bit more than one month after, on February 28th.

But he's clearly injury prone. When you look back, he suffered three major injuries in the last three seasons, including two to his ankles.

And yesterday, he injured himself again with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. He left the game in the second period and didn't come back. According to James Iacavone, Allison has a back injury but it is not believed to be serious.

That's certainly a good news.

With that being said, we have to wonder if all these injuries will, at one point, jeopardize his career. When you get injured that many times early in your journey, you begin to backdown a bit and do everything in your power to not put yourself in situations that could lead to injuries.

That's just a normal human being reaction.

The other thing is that he can't stay healthy for an extended period of time. Since the end of his career in the NCAA, Allison played 41 games between the AHL and the NHL in two seasons.

The good news is that the forward has always showed that he had the mental toughness to go through this. He always came back better. But at some point, it's just going to be too much if he can't find a way to stay healthy, which would be extremely unfortunate because he has the skills to be a good player in the NHL...
