The winning streak ends at two for the Flyers

On Wednesday Feb. 9, the Philadelphia Flyers were back in action facing off against Eastern Conference rivals the Detroit Red Wings. After a week off due to the All-Star weekend, both teams looked to improve their records ahead of the trade deadline.

Cam York makes way for
Nick Seeler. Both youngsters were recently assigned to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms in the AHL.
The flyers got off to a bad start as 3 minutes in the game, Sanheim took a holding penalty. Larkin converted unassisted for an early 1-0 lead. His 24th of the season.
Soon after however, Isaac Radcliffe answers immediately with a deflection in front of the Red Wings net. Put pucks on the net and good things happen! It was his first NHL goal !

The Red Wings were looking dangerous through the first and their star rookie Lucas Raymond scored at 6:02 in the period. Pure lunacy.
Sanheim makes up for his penalty early in the first. 24 seconds after the Raymond marker he scored his third of the season.
A quick one timer from the Swede above the left slot goes over the shoulder of
Alex Nedeljkovic.
The game was tied 2-2 going into the second.
The Wings took a quick 4-2 lead in the second however when
Pius Suter and Robbie Fabbri scored their 11th and 13th goals respectively. With 11:21 into the second
Scott Laughton scored his 8th to cut the lead to one. A fortune bouche up close and Seeler notches his second assist after missing the last game.
With a bit of daylight heading into the third the Flyers bottled it. With about halfway left in the game
Givani Smith scored his 4th of the season. He cut in on the rush and took a quick snapshot to beat Hart down low. Should have been saved.
With 3:36 left in the game Mike Yeo pulls Hart. Unsurprisingly, Namestnikov takes advantage and ends the game on an empty net goal.
Final score 6-3 Red Wings. Larkin with the first star putting up a goal and a helper. Hart had 5 goals against with an .848 save percentage.
