This season hasn't been great for the Flyers. In fact, it's been tough.
However, if you compare at the same moment of the season last year, the team is in a better place in one aspect: their organizational depth of forwards.
We saw a glimpse of it with the signing of Noah Cates a few days back. We also can't forget Bobby Brink, who is the favourite to win the Hobey Baker award in the NCAA. He could become a very good player for the Flyers.
When you add those names to the list of young players in the AHL (Tanner Laczynski, Wade Allison, Isaac Ratcliffe) and in the junior levels like Tyson Foerster, you really see that the Flyers have built a nice prospect pool of forwards.

Cates, Laczynski, Ratcliffe, Allison and Brink are all NHL ready, or close to be.
It will allow the team to bring at least some of them to the big club in order to play on the bottom-6 of the lineup next season instead of making unnecessary signings to fill out those spots.
